Red Malabar Spinach has glossy thick dark green leaves. The stems are deep red/purple. The flavor is somewhat of a mild Swiss Chard. There are many ways to prepare this awesome green. It is great sliced thin and eaten raw in a salad, used like regular spinach in a wilted spinach salad with crumbled bacon, stir fried, or in a vegetable smoothie to name a few. Red Malabar's long shelf life makes it very popular.
