C-Saw Hill Farm - CSHF
Brandon and Lisa Higgins farm sustainably on 32 acres near Rutherfordton when they are not teaching high school students to do the same at R-S Central High School.C-Saw Hill was formed to ensure that their family would be safe from over processed, factory food. Their goal is to provide consumers with the same high quality products that they enjoy.
Brandon grew up in the Shiloh community, where his family raised cattle. After graduating from N.C. State, he went to work for a farm in Colorado. Lisa was also raised on a cattle farm, in Pennsylvania, and attended Penn State. The two met as they managed pork operations for a large family farm in Murphy that was bought by Smithfield. The Higgins soon grew tired of farming for the corporate entity and moved back here to teach.
Four years ago, Brandon switched from teaching science to take a position as the only teacher of the agriculture program at R-S Central High School. Lisa joined him at R-S Central last year.
C-Saw Hill produces a variety of grass fed, antibiotic free, no hormone added, pork, beef, and chicken products.
